Consolidate Identities?

Everyone (or "everyone") says that when blogging, your blog should be focused on a single topic. So far, Fanatical Pupil has been my On Writing blog, while Nels Wadycki has been my tech (and somewhat more personal) blog. I'll admit I am currently struggling with whether to keep the two separate. I know it makes sense to follow the blogging guideline of keeping the two separate, but by doing that it also means that I have to post twice as often to make "regular" posts to two separate blogs. I mean, it should be obvious enough from just looking at the dates of the archives here that I'm not exactly a "regular" blog poster (but I'm trying), so making posts frequently enough to keep up two blogs (and GMTR) is something I'm not positive that I can actually do. That said, I guess haven't really tried as hard as I probably should.

And I also suppose that if people subscribe to my lifestream, or tumblog, they will get the posts from both blogs (I make sure of that), and if they only want to read about tech stuff or writing stuff, then they can subscribe separately to the blogs. This is actually the opposite conclusion that I came to when I went over this topic back on my Nels Wadycki Wordpress blog (which has migrated to the Nels Wadycki Blogspot blog). That's the difference that 8 months can make.

Speaking of the difference 8 months can make... After 2,639 words last night, I'm up to 13,674 words on The Nine Mothers, which you can get a preview of here. Of course, it's just my first novel, so depending on whose advice you follow, I'll either be throwing it away as soon as I'm done, or else just setting it aside for 4-6 months before coming back to rewrite the whole thing.
